TRUSTparency Project highlighted at NTUA Seminar on Research Ethics and Integrity

We are excited to share that on 17 February, at the National Technical University of Athens, during the first seminar lecture of the current academic semester titled “Ethics and Integrity in Scientific Research: What They Are, How They Are Applied, and Why They Matter”, the TRUSTparency project was highlighted as a practical example of how research integrity is addressed in a European project context.

Dr. Eleni Spyrakou, Ms. Vana Stavridi, Mr. Leonidas Ananiadis, and Dr. Dimitris Koulos emphasized the core values underpinning responsible scientific practice and academic excellence. Through an insightful and thought-provoking presentation, participants explored the meaning of research ethics and research integrity, how these principles are embedded in everyday research practice, and why they are vital for safeguarding the credibility, trustworthiness, and reputation of the scientific community.

A key highlight of the session was the presentation of the EU-funded TRUSTparency project as a concrete example of integrating research integrity principles into collaborative research. The speakers discussed the challenges and solutions involved in promoting transparency, accountability, and responsible conduct across multiple partners and countries.

Particular focus was given to the project’s objectives and the Reproducibility Promotion Plan, showcased as a dynamic, forward-looking approach to addressing complex challenges in research.

The discussion with students that followed was lively, engaging, and inspiring, clearly reflecting their genuine interest in research ethics, research integrity and growing awareness of the importance of integrating ethical considerations into their own research paths.

A truly energizing start to the new academic year, laying strong foundations not only for scientific advancement but also for responsible, ethical, and impactful innovation.

A big thank you to the seminar organizers, it was truly an excellent experience!

500+ connections on LinkedIn!

TRUSTparency EU project began as a collaboration with a shared goal: increasing reproducibility through the co-creation of interventions that support a transparent and trustworthy research ecosystem. By building reproducibility on transparency, collaboration, democratic participation, and context-sensitive frameworks, we aim to strengthen how research is conducted and trusted across Europe.
Today, our LinkedIn profile has grown to 500+ connections!
This milestone matters to us because progress in transparency and trust relies not only on research and project activities, but also on ongoing dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. A growing community helps strengthen that shared space for discussion and learning.
👉 You can help us expand our network even further:
• Connect with the TRUSTparency Reproducibility Community on LinkedIn and invite colleagues from your network who may be interested in the project and the critical issues discussed there

TRUSTparency at the Final Event of TIER2

The Coordinator of TRUSTparency, Panagiotis Kavouras, participated in the final event of the TIER2 Project, which featured highly engaging presentations and insightful discussions on the future of research reproducibility.

Panagiotis Kavouras contributed to the second panel discussion, focusing on the future of reproducibility. The discussion highlighted how Open Science, Research Integrity, and Reproducibility form an interconnected ecosystem. These overlapping communities share common interests, concerns, and practices, all working toward a shared goal: making research a more reliable, transparent, and collective endeavor.

Together with the other two RIAs on reproducibility — OSIRIS and iRISE_EU — the TIER2 Project leaves behind a rich legacy of knowledge, tools, and best practices.

This legacy provides a strong foundation for TRUSTparency to build upon, further advancing transparency, integrity, and trust in European research.

TRUSTparency at World Conference of Research Integrity

The TRUSTparency project is ready to participate in the World Conference on Research Integrity(WCRI 2026)!

At this year’s conference, the TRUSTparency project will present:
“Results from a Scoping Review on Reproducibility Interventions and the Development of a Toolbox of Such Interventions”

The conference brings together researchers, institutions, and policymakers from around the world to discuss how to uphold trust and integrity in scientific research.

Stay tuned for updates!

TRUSTparency Selected for the widerAdvance Facility Programme

We are delighted to announce that TRUSTparency has been selected to join the widerAdvance Facility!

Designed specifically for beneficiaries of Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 Widening/WIDERA projects, widerAdvance provides dedicated support to strengthen dissemination and exploitation (D&E) practices.

Through our participation in widerAdvance, we will:
🔹 Enhance our dissemination and exploitation strategy.
🔹 Translate research results into practical, sustainable impact.

Especially, the programme will also support the further maturation of our Key Exploitable Result (KER) — the TRUSTparency Toolbox, which includes practices and training materials aimed at increasing reproducibility and establishing Reproducibility Promotion Plans. By strengthening our capacities and enhancing our skills in dissemination and exploitation (D&E), widerAdvance will assist us in developing robust valorisation plans for our KERs and maximizing their long-term impact.

Aligned with the European Commission’s Dissemination and Exploitation Strategy, widerAdvance equips us with the tools, guidance, and expertise needed to overcome common barriers, increase visibility, and reinforce our contribution to the European Research Area.

We move forward with a strong commitment to sustainable innovation, collaboration, and maximizing the impact of TRUSTparency across Europe.

We are in the process of conducting a Delphi Survey that aims to create a taxonomy of reproducibility interventions and pair them to different stages of the research cycle. The first round of the survey – in a sense – took a step back, aiming at getting input on the activities that comprise each stage of the research cycle and its relevance for facilitating reproducible research practices. The input we received clearly showed that the structure of the research cycle is not clear-cut, the periodization of the research cycle is nuanced, as well as much affected by the disciplinary context. Do you think this is a valid result? Does it reflect reality, in your opinion? Please share your thoughts…

Oral Presentation by TRUSTparency’s coordinator at Neurons and Machines: Philosophy, Ethics, Policies, and the Law

We are pleased to share that Panagiotis Kavouras delivered an oral presentation at the conference Neurons and Machines: Philosophy, Ethics, Policies, and the Law, hosted by the University of Ioannina.

His presentation, titled: “The Quest for Reproducible Research Results Across Epistemologies: Vision, Illusion or Political Decision?” addressed the increasingly critical issue of research reproducibility across diverse epistemological traditions.

The conference brought together scholars from philosophy, neuroscience, law, and public policy to reflect on the ethical, regulatory, and epistemic challenges emerging at the intersection of human cognition and intelligent systems.
